نبذة مختصرة : The article analyzes the pedagogical practice of teaching professional education specialists to create ornamental compositions for textile materials and the introduction of the techniques of painting fabric - batik in the educational process. The ability to effectively use the features of batik in combination with a modern design approach allows you to artistically create exclusive refined fabrics that are distinguished by a harmonious color combination, expressiveness and uniqueness of ornamental compositions. Students independently choose from which source the plots are used, what meaning is invested in the content of the composition. The role of ornament in the costume is revealed, the types and elements of fabric ornamentation are determined. The elements that make up the ornament can more or less accurately reproduce reality, but most often in the ornament motifs of the real world are subject to significant processing: generalization, schematization. The defining formal features of the ornament include decorative stylization, flatness, organic connection with the surface, which it always organizes, often emphasizing the constructive logic of the object. The peculiarities of different techniques of fabric painting are revealed: hot and cold batik, Shibori, Coqueti, free painting. The hot method of batik differs from the cold one in that instead of a special substance to reserve the pattern, molten wax is used, which is applied with a special tool. In the Shibori knotting technique, the fabric is tied in knots and boiled in a dye solution. Sometimes the fabric is folded in a certain way and tied with threads or ropes. It's a bit like origami. The Coqueti technique involves the use of stencils. And the technique of free painting is based on the ability of paint to spread more or less over the fabric, depending on this, various artistic effects arise that give the works a unique personality belonging to handmade work.
