Guia de Orientações para Dispensação de Medicamentos em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde

Introduction: several cultural aspects can induce the irrational use of medicines and the encouragement of self-medication, which requires a permanent process of promoting rational use through an educational program, both for the health team and for the user, with a view to that there is an absence of guides in the Basic Health Units for quick consultation by health professionals. Objective: to develop a guide to guide the dispensing of medicines and counseling users, aiming to promote the rational use of medicines.Method: observational and longitudinal study carried out from August 27 to September 27, 2019, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, in a Basic Health Unit in the community of Brasília Teimosa in the district of Santos Reis in Natal / RN. As bibliographic references, free access portals were used that provide updated information, in a precise and reliable way.Results: creation of a table of existing drugs in the Basic Health Unit of the community of Brasília Teimosa and that can be used in other Basic Health Units, ordered in alphabetical order, considering the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical - ATC classification; table with guidance information on dosage, administration technique, drug interactions and parameters for monitoring effectiveness and therapeutic risk.Discussion: the dispensation must be individualized to prevent the irrational use of medications that can aggravate the user's initial health status or induce the appearance of other health problems.Conclusion: the dispensing of medications within the Basic Health Unit of the Brasília Teimosa community is done without any guidance and adequate information to patients, negatively interfering in the community's health.
