      Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) presents with patients experiencing discomfort due to acid-containing stomach contents persistently being refluxed into the oesophagus. This condition can lead to serious complications if left untreated. The two chief complaints of GORD are heartburn and regurgitation. The management of GORD is wide and varied and includes antacids, H2-antagonists, alginates, pro-kinetics, or proton pump inhibitors.
