Envejecimiento saludable en una muestra de sacerdotes: sentido de la vida y reserva cognitiva ; Healthy aging in a sample of priests: meaning of life and cognitive reserve

El crecimiento exponencial de la población mayor de 65 años es un fenómeno demográfico que supone un reto para encontrar los mejores recursos para contribuir a su desarrollo óptimo. Este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo descubrir cómo el sentido de la vida, la reserva cognitiva y la religiosidad, ampliamente estudiados como factores protectores de la salud física y mental, se reflejan en el proceso de envejecimiento de una población de sacerdotes católicos, quienes por su estilo de vida cultivan estos factores. Nuestro estudio encuentra una relación significativa entre estas variables, corroborando la investigación que las respalda como factores de protección en el proceso de envejecimiento saludable. ; The exponential growth of the population over 65 is a demographic pheno-menon that presents itself as a challenge to the human sciences to deepen their knowledge in order to provide the best resources for their optimal development. This research work seeks to find out how, meaning of life, cognitive reserve and religiosity, widely studied as protective factors of physical and mental health, is reflected in the aging process of a population of Catholic priests, who for their style these factors are cultivated throughout life. Our study finds a significant relationship between these variables corroborating the research that supports them as protective factors in the process of healthy aging. ; peerReviewed
