Backgrounds: Anxiety disorders are a public health issue and the general practitioner (GP) is the first health professional in detecting and treating these disorders. The guidelines state the first treatment lies in non pharmacological treatment. The main aim of this study was to examine the patients’ representation of anxiety disorders’ management with non pharmacological treatment. Methods: It’s a descriptive and transversal study realized by surveying a panel of patients in 3 medical practices in Calvados. Results: 90 patients answered the survey. 46,7% had consulted a general practitioner for anxiety symptoms. 72.2% had tried a non pharmacological treatment and 90.7% think it is at least as effective as pharmacological treatment. Self help supports were barely used. 68.5% wanted more information about it and only 21.1% had asked their general practitioner for information.
