The tooth structure can undergo changes due to complications such as caries or fractures and, therefore, it becomes necessary to restore the affected tissue. In the case of posterior teeth, depending on the experience/preference of the professional and the structural analysis of the remnant, the restorative technique with indirect resin is a clinical possibility, with satisfactory longevity. To obtain these restorations, conventional or digital flow can be used. The objective of this work is to report two clinical cases in which indirect restorations made of composite resin were used in posterior teeth using working models obtained by different flows. In the conventional flow, molding with silicone by addition was used to obtain the working model in plaster type IV. For the digital flow, a full-arch scan was performed with an intraoral camera to obtain a digital model and later, a printed model. After adapting the models, the restorations were made in nanohybrid composite resin. Both flows made it possible to obtain indirect restorations requiring minimal proximal adjustments during their fitting. After making the adjustments, finishing, and polishing were performed and the restorations were cemented following adhesive protocols. Patients were followed up for a period of 12 and 6 months, respectively. Despite the short follow-up period, the restorations made using both flows showed good functional and esthetic results. It is important to emphasize that the preferences of dentists and prosthetic technicians in relation to the preferred flow are important, in addition to understanding the benefits and possible difficulties and limitations of the techniques to guide professionals during the rehabilitation process.
