نبذة مختصرة : 136 páginas ; This work collects the results of a research carried out by two teachers in the rural context of the Municipality of Augustin Codazzi. The objective of the research is to determine how the leadership of teachers and directors who provide educational services in rural areas can have a positive impact on strengthening roots and improving the living conditions of its inhabitants. To guarantee the viability and impact of the proposed objectives, the existing literature related to the research was investigated, addressing important concepts and themes such as rurality and new rurality, approach to rural education at the national and international level, teacher leadership, rural leadership and its importance in rural contexts, and types of leadership. The research was carried out with a qualitative approach and an ethnographic design, using in-depth interviews and differentiated participant observations for four focus groups (teachers, parents, rural students, and urban immigrant students from rural areas) as data collection instruments. The findings reveal that both students and parents see in the countryside potential and guarantees of an environmental nature and social coexistence, which are not sufficient in the face of other unmet needs regarding educational offerings, health and recreation services, avenues of penetration, productive economy, among others; problems that affect the roots in rurality, and influence the decision of young people to migrate to the city in search of better educational and work opportunities to develop their life projects. ; El presente trabajo recoge los resultados de una investigación realizada por dos docentes en el contexto rural del Municipio de Agustín Codazzi.
