نبذة مختصرة : Nowadays, the exponential growth of the human population exposes a myriad of drawbacks, such as increased demand for food, energy, water, among others. Different solutions have been proposed to maximize the conscious production of food. One of the possible solutions is known as vertical farm or vertical agriculture, which seeks to take advantage of the production space to the maximum. Likewise, urban cultivation techniques have been explored in environments that control the agroclimatic variables that affect plant growth processes. Therefore, the objective of this review is to demonstrate the technological processes involved in vertical farms and how they affect the growth of different plants or crops. ; En la actualidad, el crecimiento exponencial de la población humana genera un sinfín de inconvenientes, como lo es una mayor demanda de alimentos, energía, agua, entre otros. Diferentes soluciones se han propuesto con el fin de maximizar la producción de alimentos. La agricultura vertical ofrece una posible solución, en especial, aprovechando mejor el espacio de producción. De igual forma se han explorado técnicas para cultivos en ambientes urbanos controlando las variables agroclimáticas que afectan los procesos de crecimientos de las plantas. Por tanto, el objetivo de esta revisión es evidenciar los procesos tecnológicos que conlleva la realización de granjas verticales y los efectos en el crecimiento de diferentes plantas o cultivos.
