نبذة مختصرة : The publication studies ways of students' cognitive activity in Ukrainian literature lessons. The work contains advice on the use of forms, methods and teaching techniques for successful study of the subject, cooperation with schoolchildren in lessons. The materials are designed for study by secondary school teachers, to help students and increase interest in studying Ukrainian literature. Research results indicate the effectiveness of teaching, stimulation of cognitive activity, student activity, and improvement of material learning. The publication is aimed at teachers of Ukrainian literature who wish to improve their teaching methods and involve students in active cognitive activities. All advice was developed and used in literature lessons, knowledge monitoring was carried out and the most effective work methods were determined.
