نبذة مختصرة : Insects play important roles in the environment and agriculture, being the coleoptera the larger order, and can be found in all terrestrial habitats and in aquatic environments. The ecological functions of Coleoptera are vast, and it has been an important indicator terrestrial environment. In view of the above, this study aimed to survey of Coleopteran families kept in collection at the Entomology laboratory at UTFPR-PB, in addition to obtaining an overview of the diversity of beetles in the southwestern region of Paraná to over time contained in collections, determine the most abundant families and emphasize the importance of these groups through the discussion of their biological functions and interactions of others organisms. The work was carried out in the Entomology Laboratory, of the Academic Department of Agricultural Sciences at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), Campus Pato Branco. To identify the specimens, used theTrino- cular DI-106 T LED and taxonomic keys, counting the taxon at the family level, the city of collection, month and year, from which it was generated the data that were expressed in graphs.weather graphs through average weather data of the municipality of Pato Branco. Through the survey of the families of Coleoptera kept collected in the Entomology laboratory of UTFPR-PB, we can verify the presence of 20 coleopteran families in the Southwest mesoregion of Paraná. We can verify that Coleoptera diversity the southwestern region of Paraná over time remained stable, with little variation over the years. The family Scarabaeidae was the most abundant with 29.12% of incidence, The second most abundant family was Cerambycidae with 17.52These two families together expressed 46.64% of abundance, practically half of the inarrows. Coleoptera perform several functions in the environment, among them are the relocation of manure, which positively impacts the quality of the soil, the decomposition that occurs through from their diet of vegetables and decaying meat-materials; and pest ...
