“É muito dificultoso a gente controlar”: percepções de diabéticos sobre adesão ao tratamento ; 'It is very difficult for us to control': perceptions of diabetic patients on the treatment adherence

RESUMO Objetivo: conhecer fatores que interferem na adesão de diabéticos tipo 2 ao tratamento. Método: estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa. Participaram nove pacientes que apresentavam dificuldades em aderir ao tratamento. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas e para análise das falas utilizou-se o modelo de categorias temáticas. Depois de transcritas, as falas originaram categorias que foram discutidas à luz da fenomenologia de Alfred Schutz. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética de Pesquisa, sob o Parecer 158/08. Resultados: foram identificadas as categorias > e >. Nas falas, o diabetes é significado como um evento que desorganizou o mundo cotidiano dos doentes. Conclusão: os resultados podem auxiliar profissionais de saúde na construção de planos terapêuticos orientados pelas percepções dos doentes, facilitando sua adesão ao tratamento. ABSTRACT Objective: to know the factors that influence with the treatment adherence of patients carriers of type 2 diabetes. Method: it is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The survey was attended by nine patients who had difficulties in adhering to treatment. We have conducted semi-structured interviews and made use of the model of thematic categories for analyzing the speeches. Once transcribed, the speeches originated categories that were discussed in the light of the phenomenology of Alfred Schutz. In the speeches, diabetes is addressed as an event that disrupted the everyday world of the sick people. Conclusion: The results might assist health care professionals in building therapeutic treatments guided by the patients’ perceptions, thus facilitating their treatment adherence.
