Measurement of Rural Poverty in Brazil: the Child Population Case ; Mensuração da pobreza rural do Brasil: a situação da população infantil

A major challenge for Brazil is the eradication of poverty in its different forms. In this sense, it is worth noting that the deleterious effects of poverty, especially on children, represent a great backwardness for the country. This work aims to measure child poverty in Brazil for urban and rural census conditions in different Brazilian regions. For this, the microdata from the Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílio Contínua (PNAD) were used from 2012 to 2018. The results show the significant number of children living below the poverty line, highlighting the disparities between the localities, macro-regions and population skin color. ANDRADE, S.
