Based on the case of the recovery of the former Third Police Station north of Valparaíso (Chile), a former detention and torture center during the dictatorship, the article is interested in the social and emotional dynamics inherent to the construction of this place as an urban common from the remembrance and the request for its declaration as a Site of Memory. This work analyzes the memorial and emotional registers that operate and intertwine in the double resignification of this place: one resignification as an urban common and the other as a Site of Memory. The analysis is based on observers' participation in activities at the site and ethnographic interviews conducted in 2021 with members of the Community, Memory, and Integration Corporation (comi), the main social actor in these processes. From the results we show how the social dynamics that accompany this double resignification are configured around different types of memory work that refer to different temporalities and emotionalities, sometimes antagonistic, in the same space. ; A partir del caso de la recuperación de la ex-Tercera Comisaría norte de Valparaíso (Chile), excentro de detención y tortura durante la dictadura, el artículo se interesa en las dinámicas sociales y emocionales inherentes a la construcción de este lugar como común urbano desde la rememoración y la solicitud de su declaración como Sitio de Memoria. Este trabajo, analiza los registros memoriales y emocionales que operan y se entrecruzan en la doble resignificación de este lugar: una resignificación como común urbano y otra, como Sitio de Memoria. El análisis se basa en participaciones observantes en actividades en el lugar y entrevistas etnográficas realizadas en 2021 con integrantes de la Corporación Comunidad, Memoria e Integración (comi), principal actor social en estos procesos.
