نبذة مختصرة : Child malnutrition presents a health problem, especially in the most disadvantaged social sectors. Malnutrition is considered a key factor that affects decreased growth, as well as school performance, the biochemical state is altered and increases infant morbidity and mortality. Among the main sources of malnutrition are inappropriate diet, the presence of infections that affect the adequate use of nutrients, inequity and poor availability of food. The objective is based on generalizing the impact of malnutrition on child development in Latin America, showing the implications for health and comprehensive development. The methodology of the work is generalized through informative documentary research, which involves the referential search for information in documents on websites such as books and scientific articles in Spanish and English from the last five years. Results the highest prevalence of child malnutrición is found in Ecuador, it describes a higher prevalence, that is, >30%, since it presents 68,9%, in Chimborazo with 48,8% and in the Sierra 32%. Results are presented of more than >30% of the population studied in Cuba in the last 5 years, with 65% and 56,67% affected by adequate nutrition in infants, causing different diaseses or comorbidities in the short and long term. Social and environmental determiants especially affect Paraguay and are more likely to develop malnutrition due to low income, with 64,9% having a secondary education level. ; La desnutrición infantil presenta un problema en la salud, sobre todo en los sectores sociales más desfavorecidos.
