This study investigates whether the increased positivity of religious individuals towards religious studies also contributes to higher grades. The study utilizes a methodology involving semi-structured interviews with eight certified high school religious educators, focusing on their experiences. By applying the framework theory, the integration of individual factors such as students ́ religion and their attitudes towards religious studies with external factors is examined to see if they affect students ́ grades in the subject. The study reveals that religious students generally achieve higher grades in religious studies compared to non-religious students. One explanation could be their greater interest in other people's ways of thinking and beliefs. Their religious background helps them identify similarities and differences between aspects of other religions, such as holy figures, places and texts, leading to a deeper understanding of common cultural patterns and themes among religions. According to the teachers` interpretations, Muslim students tend to focus on questioning other religions and criticize how Islam is presented in class, resulting in them generally not achieving higher grades in religious studies. This study confirms previous research indicating thet religious students have a more positive attitude towards religious studies. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that this positive attitude contributes to higher grades. By combining these findings, the study provides a deeper understating of how religious beliefs and attitudes affect students ́ performance in religious studies.
