      Ekološki osviješteni pojedinci su izrazito važni za očuvanje okoliša i prirode. Za razvoj takvog pojedinca važan je i pravilni ekološki odgoj koji započinje od najranije dobi, a cilj ima razviti ekološku kulturu i svijest. Veliku ulogu u razvoju imaju i odgojno-obrazovne institucije. Istraživanjem zastupljenosti ekološkog odgoja u nastavi biologije i prirode u višim razredima osnovnih škola imalo je cilj dobiti uvid u kojoj je mjeri ekološki odgoj zastupljen u nastavi biologije i prirode, trude li se učitelji razviti ekološki osviještenog pojedinca, imaju li učitelji utjecaj na razvoj ekološke svijesti kod učenika te jesu li stavovi učenika pravilno formirani u procesu odgoja i obrazovanja. ; Ecologically conscious individuals are extremely important for the preservation of the environment and nature. Th development of such an individual is significantly influenced by proper ecological education which starts from an early age, aiming to develop an ecological culture and awareness. Educational institutions play a significant role in this development. The research on the representation of ecological education in the teaching of biology and nature in the higher grades of primary schools aimed to gain insight into the extent to which ecological education is represented in the teaching of biology and nature, whether teachers strive to develop an ecologically conscious individual, whether teachers influence the development of ecological awareness in students, and whether students' attitudes are properly formed in the educational process.
