      In this study, interaction of the DNA and anticancer drug mitomycin C (MC) was investigated by using multi-walled carbon nanotube-modified chitosan composite graphite pencil electrode (CNT-CHIT-PGE). After examining the signal differentiation compared to the unmodified electrodes with CNT-CHIT-PGE, electrochemical behaviors of the MC /DNA immobilized on the surface of the electrode have been investigated through differentiation in the MC and guanine signal in the absence and presence of the drug / DNA using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) technique. In order to optimize the experimental conditions, effects of CHIT and CNT concentrations, DNA concentration, drug concentration and drug-DNA interaction time were investigated. In addition the electrochemical characterication by using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and the microscopic characterization of carbon nanotube-chitosan modified electrodes by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was done. In our study, disposable sensor technology for the electrochemical detection of anticancer drug-DNA interactions was developed which is fast, selective and practical, low-cost, easily preparable, gives reliable and selective results, miniaturized due to nature of the material used and applicable to the series production. Carbon nanotubes which are products of as multidisciplinary science nanotechnology, have been used herein for development of DNA biosensors.
