Doctorado en Ciencias en Ingeniería Química ; The present thesis summarizes the results concerning the production of graphene oxide as a powder and also, the fabrication of graphene as thin film, achieved by means of the chemical vapor deposition technique (CVD). On both surfaces was deposited europium oxide with the purpose of producing luminescent surfaces. Firstly, the procedure concerning the graphene oxide powder (OG) decorated with europium oxide III, was achieved by using Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) surfactant. With the use of these surfactant the inclusion of cubic europium oxide III (Eu2O3) on OG surface was successfully achieved. It was established a simple and fast technique, through the use of microwave heating. Accordingly to the defects density calculated using the data obtained through the Raman technique, the OG decorated with Eu2O3 presents a low density of defects, which means that graphene preserves its sp2 configuration, responsible for highly desirable and required optical properties in optoelectronic devices. On the other hand, it has the conformation of hemi-cylindrical and onion-like carbon structures decorated with Eu2O3, which could contribute to the manufacture of energy storage devices and electrochemical super capacitors. However, in this work, thanks to the formation of these shaped structures and the Eu2O3 present in them, their emission of photoluminescence in the red light range is observed. ; La presente tesis resume los resultados acerca de la producción de óxido de grafeno en forma de polvo y de grafeno en forma de película, elaborado mediante la técnica de depósito químico en fase vapor (CVD, por sus siglas en inglés). Sobre ambas superficies se depositó óxido de europio con el propósito promover el efecto de fotoluminiscencia.
