نبذة مختصرة : Depression is one of the fastest growing diseases in the world today and will be a challenge in the future, especially with regard to public health and the economy. There are many ways to treat a patient diagnosed with depression, the most traditional way being the use of drugs characterized as Tricyclic Antidepressants (ADT), Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI) and Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI). While effective, they also have a number of unwanted side effects such as dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, increased eye pressure, dizziness, and dizziness. Because of these effects, scientists are looking for alternative options for treating patients with mood disorders. The present literature review research was based on different studies in the literature in the field of neuropsychopharmacology that point to the substance found in grapes, Resveratrol (RSV), as a potentially effective substance to treat patients with mood disorders, such as major depression . According to the literature, RSV is able to affect many mechanisms involved with depression, as this substance has many properties, such as an anti-inflammatory effect, lowering oxidative stress, contributing to neuroplasticity and neurogenesis of the brain, which can affect the brain and alter part of the contributing pathogenesis of depression. RSV has also been shown to improve sleep quality.
