Landscape routes as a strategy for the maintenance of key elements of the landscape in the municipality of Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil) ; Vulnerabilidade à perda de solos no município de Lucena-PB: avaliação para os anos de 2018 a 2040

Valuation in the environmental context requires understanding the functions that ecosystems perform in favor of socio-environmental quality, in this regard, the work is developed. The objective refers to the analysis and construction of strategies that promote the appreciation and maintenance of ecosystem services performed by key elements of the landscape in the municipality of Santa Maria. The methodological process goes through the definition of these key elements and the ecosystem services provided by them, obtained through theoretical references, fieldwork and interviews at the study site and in areas of recognized appreciation of the landscape of Portugal. The identification of biodiversity, geomorphology, hydrology and anthropic uses as key elements, added to the ecosystem services made possible by them, allowed the discussion about the value associated with such elements and the protection panorama involved. Strategies for valuing key elements were tactically developed between the correlation of examples obtained in Portugal, similarly applied in Santa Maria. The results of the study show the effective possibility of valuing the landscape in Santa Maria through the developed Santa Maria Landscape Routes. The paths designated in the course of the work show that sustainable use, linked to monetary and non-monetary valuation, is capable of promoting the valuation of landscape systems.
