Trabalho de conclusão de curso (graduação) - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Centro de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Curso de Bacharelado em Serviço Social, RS, 2019. ; The present Course Conclusion Work consists of the experience report of the intervention, made from the required curricular internship, which took place at the Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Infanto-juvenil – O Equilibrista, in the city of Santa Maria/RS. The work aims to address issues that lead teenagers to vent their feelings and anxieties through self-mutilation. Situations that trigger aggression towards themselves are not always pathological issues, they may be issues that permeate the social. For that reason this task has carried out a history of mental health to the present day, discussing a profession of social worker, identifying its object of work, thus justifying the importance of this professional in practicing this issue. This study aims, in particular, to present an experience of professional work of the Social Work in the territory, through schools, where information about mental health was taken, intending the issues that involve self-mutilation, with the objective of expanding the knowledge of these teenagers, promoting dialogues. on the issues of adolescence, prevent illnesses thus effecting the promotion of life. Due to the little information that exists on this subject of adolescent self-mutilation in a social bias, and the severity and increase of cases that come to the services, the importance of discussing and knowing more about the reasons and the importance of the social worker in face of this issue is latent. demand. ; O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso se constitui do relato de experiência da intervenção realizada, a partir do estágio curricular obrigatório, ocorrido no Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Infanto-juvenil – O Equilibrista, no município de Santa Maria/RS.
