      This article discusses the problems faced by Geography teachers to work with the concept of place, to study the municipality in the Early Years of Elementary School, due to the lack of information, data on Geography and the History of the territory. This makes teaching conditions with severe limitations. The objective, in this text, is to present evidence of the importance of the case study of each municipality, to strengthen the teaching and study of the place. It is important to identify the municipality as a political-administrative division with territorial-legal organization mediated by the social life relations of the population. To this end, we present an example of methodology in the elaboration of didactic resources, mainly digital maps with information about the municipality. The investigation was based on a case study with the participation of 64 teachers working in the Early Years, from different areas of knowledge. Bibliographic sources substantiate the geographical context of the municipality. The investigation showed the difficulty of teachers to work Geography and History of the municipality due to the lack of pedagogical didactic resources that allow the child to know about their place of experience. ; Este artículo discute los problemas que enfrentan los profesores de Geografía para trabajar con el concepto de lugar, para estudiar el municipio en los Primeros Años de la Enseñanza Fundamental, debido a la falta de información, datos sobre Geografía e Historia del territorio. Esto hace que las condiciones de enseñanza tengan severas limitaciones. El objetivo, en este texto, es presentar evidencias de la importancia del estudio de caso de cada municipio, para fortalecer la enseñanza y el estudio del lugar.
