نبذة مختصرة : Retrospective study of 299 cases of patients with anterior uveitis treated in Kaunas University of Medicine Eye department during 2004–2005 years was done. There were 48.2 % women (n=144, medium age 64.29±16.73 years), men – 51.8 % (n=155, medium age 54.31±17.41 years). 47.8 % patients had anterior uveitis in left eye, 46.5 % – in right, 5,7 % – in both eyes. Eye traumas caused anterior uveitis in 15.38 % cases, different infection (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites) in 31.44 %, systemic noninfection diseases in 13.71 %. In 39.47 % cases, cause of uveitis was not detected. The patients were treated (spent) in hospital for average 7.09±3.33 days. The most common complaint (for 80.94 % patients) was pain. Adhesions between lens and iris were identified in 49.16 % cases. After treatment there were no adhesions in 23.75 % cases, they stayed partly in 16.05 % cases and severe were identified in 9.36 % cases. The most common treatment was nonsteroid anti–inflammatory drugs (in 87.29 % cases), corticosteroids (80.27 %) and mydriatics (81.30 %). Antibiotics were used for 71.24 % patients with infectious and traumatic uveitis. After treatment disease was cured in 4.33 % patients, in 94 % cases eye’s condition was better and 1.67% changed marginally.
