URINARY INCONTINENCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENT CAREERS OF THE NORTE PARANAENSE ASSOCIATION OF REHABILITATION (ANPR) ; INCONTINÊNCIA URINÁRIA E QUALIDADE DE VIDA EM CUIDADORAS DE PACIENTES DA ASSOCIAÇÃO NORTE PARANAENSE DE REABILITAÇÃO (ANPR)

Urinary incontinence (UI) is the involuntary loss of urine and may be related to several factors, such as age, pelvic floor trauma, hereditary factors, race, menopause, obesity, chronic diseases, and intense exercise in the abdominal region. According to the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU), Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI), Urgency Urinary Incontinence (IUU) or Mixed Urinary Incontinence (IUM). Diagnosis is made not only based on clinical history, but also with the application of a quality of life questionnaire, physical examination, voiding diary, pad test and urodynamic study. The techniques used by the physiotherapist are diversified, including Kegel exercises, electrostimulation, biofeedback technique, use of vaginal cones and others. This study aims to identify the prevalence of complaints of urinary loss by caregivers of patients who attend the Associação Norte Paranaense de Rehabilitation (ANPR). The Research Ethics Committee of Centro Universitário Ingá – UNINGÁ approved this qualitative study under opinion No. 4.792.406. In order to carry out this study, the researchers created a questionnaire containing information with questions related to urinary incontinence. Our sample consisted of 34 female individuals aged between 18 and 72 years old, all of whom were caregivers of patients attending the ANPR.
