نبذة مختصرة : Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a clinical syndrome that affects the kidneys and evolves slowly and progressively, with irreversibility of kidney function as its main characteristic. Some common clinical findings, especially in elderly patients with CKD, are a decrease in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and a higher rate of falls when compared to the general population. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the quality of life and risk of falls in patients undergoing hemodialysis in the city of Santa Cruz/RN and to compare the results with pre-existing data in the literature. Methodology: This is an observational, descriptive quantitative study with 11 participants. The instruments used were the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form questionnaire (KDQOL-SF 1.3) and the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test. The data were transferred to the statistical program GraphPad Prism 6, and the significance level was considered to be 95%, and the Shapiro-Wilk test and the Spearman test were applied to analyze the distribution of the sample for correlation between variables. Results and Discussion: In the analysis of the KDQOL-SF data, it was observed that the lowest dimensions were professional activity, sexual function, physical performance and emotional performance, and the mean TUG score was 7.0±(1.4) seconds.Conclusion: There was a decrease in HRQoL, especially with regard to physical performance, emotional performance, sexual function and professional activity.
