Città inclusive, sicure, resilienti e innovative. Riflessioni sul caso italiano

The climate emergency, the attention to the use of scarce environmental resources of the planet, the progressive importance of an increasingly circular economy, have favoured the transition of cities from closed areas, that consume spaces and resources, into centres dominated by ʻrenewalʼ. The future of current cities depends on the ability to reinvent abandoned buildings, underused areas, neighbourhoods and degraded public spaces, through complex operations. Reflecting the challenges of urban change and their outcomes starting from literature review, the article focuses in particular on urban regeneration in Italy.
