El Blau del Cel ; The Blue of the Sky ; El Azul del Cielo

Cada imatge és una mostra de color blau presa d’una fotografia del cel. El text que apareix s’ha generat amb una eina d’extracció de prompts. Aquestes eines s’utilitzen per aconseguir la descripció idònia d’una imatge si el que vol és generar-ne una de similar amb intel·ligència artificial. Demanar que la IA descrigui el blau del cel en un prompt és instigar-la a realitzar un exercici poètic, no tan pel tema (el cel), sinó pel caràcter inefable de la imatge. Els passatges escrits sobre el blau del cel ens suggereixen una reflexió sobre els límits dels prompts, que són també els límits de la descripció, la representació o la indexació de les imatges. A la vegada, el títol de l’obra fa referència al llibre homònim de Georges Bataille, Le Bleu du ciel, i és una forma més de confrontar aquestes tecnologies amb la interpretació d’allò que és inabastable. Les imatges són part d’una proposta no realitzada d’instal·lació del col·lectiu Estampa per a una exposició al museu Jeu de Paume de París que durà a terme durant els mesos d’abril a setembre de 2025. ; Each image is a blue sample taken from a picture of the sky. These tools are used to get the ideal description of an image when you want to generate a similar one with artificial intelligence. Asking the AI to describe the blue of the sky in a prompt is like asking it to perform a poetic exercise, not because of the subject (the sky), but because of the ineffable character of the image. The passages written about the blue of the sky suggest to us a reflection on the limits of prompts, which are also the limits of the describing, representing or indexing of images. The title of the work, in turn, refers to Georges Bataille's book of the same name, Le Bleu du ciel (Blue of Noon), and is another way of confronting these technologies with the interpretation of the unspeakable.
