In this article, the author presents an analysis ofthe positive and negative aspects of state planningin the electricity and natural gas sectors. In bothsectors, it indicates how the planning interventionby the State has been strengthened over the years.However, it also points out the problems that it stillpresents.The author highlights the importance of stateplanning in a social market economy regime, inaddition to this, he points out the problems thatnot have sufficient incentives to satisfy demand,since that is where the State has to intervenethrough public companies.Likewise, the author presents certainrecommendations made by the MultisectoralCommission for the Reform of the ElectricitySubsector to contribute to the problems that havebeen generated in various cases due to the lack of efficient state planning. ; En el presente artículo, el autor presenta un análisisde los aspectos positivos y negativos de la planificaciónestatal en los sectores de electricidad y de gasnatural. En ambos sectores señala como la intervenciónplanificadora por parte del Estado se ha idofortaleciendo con el paso de los años. Sin embargo,indica también los problemas que aún presenta.El autor recalca la importancia de la planificaciónestatal en un régimen de economía social de mercado,y en complemento a ello, señala la problemáticaque se genera para el Estado cuando las empresasno tienen incentivos suficientes para atenderla demanda, pues es ahí dónde el Estado tieneque intervenir por medio de empresas públicas.Asimismo, el autor presenta ciertas recomendacionesque realiza la Comisión Multisectorial deReforma del Subsector Eléctrico para contribuircon la problemática que se ha generado en diversoscasos por la falta de una eficiente planificaciónestatal.
