This habilitation to direct doctoral theses (HDR) draws on four books published between 2008 et 2021. It considers the relationship between 'facts and figures' as a key philosophical issue. What is at stake is characterising the truth expressed by figures, examining the conventions used to produce them and bringing out alternative sets of conventions that point out a plurality of possible worlds. In the economic field, it differentiates liberalism and capitalism by distinguishing four strata (practices, norms, theories, and discourses). This leads to an alternative vision of the market economy, which in particular relies on new accounting standards, accounting being defined as the primary language of economy. More broadly, the prominence of economy, quantification, and technology marks the 'end of naturality' and the shift from the 'infinite universe' of classical science to a 'reflective system', of which social networks, big data or financial markets provide the archetype. This leads to the proposal of a more open model of knowledge, recognizing the place of contingency, irreversibility, and unsustainability. Conventions play an important role in the construction of knowledge and of the world. Taking this into account opens up space for the ‘decidable’, beyond the too narrow partition of the determined and the undecidable. Doing so allows to find a continuity between the fields of knowledge and existence, integrating change and intentionality, and positioning epistemology, ontology, metaphysics, and politics in a coherent set. ; Cette habilitation à diriger des recherches s’appuie sur quatre ouvrages publiés entre 2008 et 2021.
