نبذة مختصرة : The diversity of terms in the Al-Quran Al-Karim require a detailed explanation especially for those who have Arabic as their second language. There are several terms in the Qur'an al-Karim that has been translated into more than one meaning. For example, word al-Rayhan ( ) in the surah al-Rahman has been translated as basil tree ( ) with a scientific name ocimum bassilicum and al-As tree () with a scientific name myrtus communis. This situation occurred due to the spread of Islamic knowledge and Arabic language to all corners of the world. Therefore, it is necessary to explain dual description of translation found in the Qur'an al-Karim to avoid confusion in understanding the contents of Al-Quran Al-Karim. This study discusses how the geographical areas acts together with the field of tafsir, hadith and Arabic lexicography in the interpretation of certain verses of Al-Quran Al-Karim. The data was collected qualitatively using two different methods, the historical method and the documentary method. Both methods are carried out using two different approaches, the library research and external reviews. The combined results from all areas of the facts in this study is expected to obtain the actual or an almost similar meaning of world al-Rayhan in surah al-Rahman. *( ) merupakan tulisan jawi yang tidak dapat mengikut format font sistem ini.
