نبذة مختصرة : This article brings together solution journalism with experiences of television journalism committed to transformation. Considering the centrality of television journalism in a country with low education, including media literacy, the objective is to understand if the narratives presented in Jornal Nacional (Rede Globo) are able to denounce and announce ways to face inequalities with a “rigorous and convincing coverage of answers to social problems” (Solutions Journalism Network, 2022). Added to this are the dramaturgy of television journalism (Coutinho, 2012) and the pedagogical role of audiovisual information (Cerqueira, 2018). The empirical approach involves documentary research on reports on education and its unequal provision in Brazil. The methodology chosen is the audiovisual materiality analysis (Coutinho, 2018). Four main analytical axes were proposed: a) news values deduced from the selection of story elements; b) narrative and dramatic structures in the presentation of conflicts and solutions; c) educational potential and the framework through which it is presented; d) observation of solutions or mere communication of problems. As a result, it seems that the narratives of the Jornal Nacional do not opt for the model in factual issues and research presentation. The posture is to show “what went wrong” without expanding this meaning to find answers to socio-cultural and economic problems. ; Este trabajo reúne periodismo de solución con experiencias de periodismo televisivo comprometido con la transformación.
