      This research aims to reflect on the importance of using games as pedagogical resources in the literacy process of children and to discuss the role of teacher mediation in the use of these resources in the literacy process. The study has a bibliographical character based on the reflection of official documents of national education such as: National Common Curricular Base (2017) and National Pact of Education at the Right Age (2014). In addition to being based on the reflections of authors who deal with the themes: Soares (2000, 2004, 2005 and 2020), Morais (2012), Ferreiro (1988 and 2011), Kishimoto (1997 and 2003), Antunes (1999 and 2003 ), between others. We can conclude that the use of games in the literacy process can contribute to a more meaningful learning where students can develop their potential, through a dynamic and challenging education, providing the literacy teacher with a subsidy to stimulate and provide students with their integral development, being the game is one of the most significant languages in the child's phase, as well as a resource for a more attractive performance for their pedagogical practice. Therefore, it is a way to contribute to the practice of the literacy teacher, as well as its use in new discussions about this theme. ; Esta pesquisa visa refletir a importância do uso dos jogos como recursos pedagógicos no processo de alfabetização de crianças e discutir o papel da mediação docente no emprego desses recursos no processo de alfabetização. O estudo tem caráter bibliográfico pautado na reflexão de documentos oficiais da educação nacional como: Base Nacional Comum Curricular (2017) e Pacto Nacional da Educação na Idade Certa (2014). Além de pautar-se nas reflexões de autores que tratam sobre as temáticas: Soares (2000, 2004, 2005 e 2020), Morais (2012), Ferreiro (1988 e 2011), Kishimoto (1997 e 2003), Antunes (1999 e 2003), entre outros.
