Treball Final de Grau en Estudis Anglesos. Codi: EA0938. Curs acadèmic: 2022/2023 ; In today's globalized world, where migration and multilingualism are on the rise, translanguaging has become a crucial tool for communication and understanding. Translanguaging refers to the fluid use of multiple languages in everyday communication, and it is increasingly recognized as a valuable resource in educational settings. Pedagogical translanguaging, in particular, has gained traction as an approach to teaching and learning that acknowledges and values students' linguistic and cultural backgrounds. By embracing the linguistic diversity of students, pedagogical translanguaging creates a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, where all students feel valued and able to participate. This qualitative study investigates the application of teaching methods and educational strategies that promote translanguaging practices in multilingual educational settings. Specifically, the study investigates the ways in which teachers and students use translanguaging practices in the classroom and the role that they play in facilitating or inhibiting these practices. The findings shed light on the strategies used by teachers and the ways in which multilingual students use their linguistic resources to participate in classroom activities. The study also highlights the potential benefits of promoting translanguaging practices in educational settings and the challenges of implementing these practices effectively. We may conclude that these findings contribute to the understanding of the complex relationship between education and translanguaging practices and they might have implications for educators, policy makers, and researchers in multilingual educational contexts.
