نبذة مختصرة : The study aimed to verify which the contributions that the methodology of games can bring to the teach of addition and subtraction with integers. The development environment of the study was the classroom of high school Francisco Pessoa de Brito located in the city of Araçagi - PB. The instruments were a game and two questionnaires and the subjects in this study were 17 students of 1st year of high school. We seek to encourage the use of games in teaching mathematics and for this we take as reference the authors Rêgo and Rêgo (2004), Alves( 2001),Campos( 2001), Hoffmann(2009), Mori( 2005), Muniz(2005), Neves(1996), Smole,Diniz, The didactic intervention consisted of three steps. AT first it was used instrument with problem situations previously selected about the integers, aiming to identify students' prior knowledge, in the second step was the preparation and use of game Matix, and finally in the third step we used a questionnaire evaluation. The Analysis of results obtained in the implementation of activities revealed that the subjects in the study had difficulty interpreting the problems posed in the questionnaires, Another factor that was found was the difficulty with the operations of integers and we found that the use of the game favored the motivation to learn mathematics, interaction, attention, and self-esteem, In general, the proposed objectives were achieved in each activity with students.
