نبذة مختصرة : Chlamydia trachomatis infection (CTI) is the most frequentbacterial sexually transmitted infection in France and the world. Cases screening is based ongeneral practitioners (GPs) in France. We asked general practitioners in Manche about their screening and caring practises for CTI. Weused paper questionnaires rated out of 20 points. We asked 341 GPs during January 2022.139 have been validated (40.1% response rate). 53% of GPs knew CTI french prevalence andthe most commonly affected population. GPs didn’t know very well screening criteria in men andwomen, such as CTI sampling methods. PCR as CTI diagnosis method has been usually used.GPs knew CTI treatment: they used commonly azithromycin (77%) and doxycyclin (8.6%). Only26% GPs prescribed caring control at 3-6 months and/or blood samples to research other sexuallytransmitted infections. Compared with the literature, GPs overestimated their participation in CTIscreening. They took too much into acount sexual orientation of women who consulted them asscreening criteria. On the contrary, they didn’t take enough into acount the age of their patients. They practiced fewer screen tests than others when their patients had unprotected sex. Theyconsidered the "change of sexual partner in the past year" criteria more than their colleagues.GPs seem eager to improve their practices and the frequency of their screenings. Screening couldbe organized at the national level on an annual basis. We could use self-sampling kits sent athome or collected from the attending physician. Information campaigns aimed at the public andprofessionnals are insufficient and need to be more publicized. ; L’infection à Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) est l’infection sexuellement transmissible bactérienne la plus fréquente en France et dans le monde.
