نبذة مختصرة : The main objective of this study is to discuss the importance of the Applied Linguistics discipline in the practice of Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) teachers who will work in the context of Basic Education. The introduction of Libras as a subject in the curriculum of undergraduate courses makes one think about the lack and need for organization of the subject in the academic field, as well as the professional issue of the future teacher in the classroom, his/her practice in teaching with deaf or hearing students, as well as the explanation of content highlighting aspects of deaf culture and teaching methodologies in the service needed in education with such students. Based on this premise, we opted to carry out a bibliographical research of the 'Meta Analysis' type. We selected the Scielo and Periódicos Capes (Capes's Newspapers) websites as a database for the survey with a delimitation of a time frame of 8 (eight) years, that is, 2015 to 2023. The results indicated few studies involving the field of Applied Linguistics and initial training of Libras teachers. Despite this, those analyzed present significant contributions from this area of knowledge to teaching, as well as reflecting on a practice aligned with the reality that surrounds the student, whether deaf or hearing. ; O presente estudo tem, como objetivo principal, discutir a importância da disciplina Linguística Aplicada na formação de licenciandos em Letras Libras que atuarão no contexto da Educação Básica. A introdução da Libras como disciplina nos currículos dos cursos de licenciatura faz pensar na falta e necessidade de organização da disciplina em âmbito acadêmico, bem como a questão profissional do futuro professor em sala de aula, o seu exercício no magistério com alunos surdos ou ouvintes, explicação de conteúdos destacando aspectos da cultura surda e metodologias de ensino no atendimento que precisamos na educação com tais alunos.
