Colorectal cancer is one of the most frequent cancer types. During colonoscopy the characteristics of the polyps found in colon differ. It is important to evaluate differences of the polyps in order to determine the risk of colorectal cancer. The aim of the research - to determine the correlation between visual diagnostics and histological findings of polyps found in colon during colonoscopy in the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinic, Gastroenterology department in 2015 – 2016. The tasks of the research. To determine the endoscopic characteristics of polyps found during colonoscopy based on classifications of Paris and Kudo and the connection between these classifications and histological evaluation. Methodology. Retrospectively, the data of patients case history, whom had colonoscopy, polypectomy or biopsy and histological analysis in LSMUL KK gastroenterology clinic in 2015-2016 was analyzed. Polyps were evaluated based on Paris and Kudo classifications. The results of histological analysis was based on Vienna classification. Statistical data analysis was made using SPSS 22.0 statistical programme. Quantitative data was evaluated by calculating its average, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values. Link between Paris/Kudo classifications and histological analysis was assessed using χ2 criteria. The correlation between variables was assessed using Spearman ordinal correlation (ρ). It was considered statistically significant only if p<0.05. Results. There were 100 patients participating in the analysis, of whom 59 were female (59%) and 41 were male (41%), the average age was 62.51 ± 6.18 years. Polyps were found in 65 participants. There were 206 separate polyp cases assessed with Paris, Kudo, and Vienna classifications. Polyp frequency in groups based on Paris classification: Ip 6.8%, Is 35%, IIa 40.8%, IIb 17.4%. Frequency based on Kudo classification: I – 26.2%, II – 7.8%, IIIS – 33.5%, IIIL – 28.6%, IV – 3.9%. Based on Vienna classification: 1st category – 99 polyps (48%), ...
