نبذة مختصرة : It is vitally important to carry out studies that provide knowledge about history, since this is the basis for the interpretation and enhancement of heritage. In this case, given the scarce material evidence related to the Conchos prison, it is necessary to make a reconstruction or interpretation on a hypothetical level of its structure and spaces, to better understand its functioning, as well as its role in defense, but above all, in the settlement of Nueva Vizcaya. We worked based on our experience on the subject, reviewing the historiography and also through a comparative analysis between interpretation proposals, as well as making analogies with other contemporary fortifications. Thus, a satisfactory identification and reconstruction of the property was achieved, allowing clarity about its history and role within the occupation and pacification of colonial northern Mexico. ; Es de vital importancia realizar estudios que permitan brindar conocimiento sobre la historia, ya que esta es la base para la interpretación y puesta en valor del patrimonio. En este caso, ante las escasas evidencias materiales relacionadas con el presidio de Conchos, fue necesario hacer una reconstrucción o interpretación en un nivel hipotético de su estructura y espacios, para entender mejor su funcionamiento, así como su papel en la defensa, sobre todo en el poblamiento de la Nueva Vizcaya. Se trabajó sobre la base de nuestra experiencia en el tema, revisando la historiografía y también mediante un análisis comparativo entre propuestas de interpretación, así como haciendo analogías con otras fortificaciones contemporáneas. Así, se logró una identificación y reconstrucción satisfactoria del bien, que permite brindar claridad sobre su historia y papel dentro de la ocupación y pacificación del norte de México colonial.
