نبذة مختصرة : View of the Sculpture Court of The Baltimore Museum of Art during the exhibition, Art of the Medici (October 6 – November 26, 1939). A replica of an Andrea del Verrocchio fountain in the Palazzo Vecchio, lent by Malcolm's of Baltimore is at the left. Garlands decorate the columns. The Sculpture Court was the scene of the gala opening of the exhibition which featured period dances by Peabody Ballet students in costume. Tapestries, paintings, furniture, sculpture, books, and other material of the Italian Renaissance period (all with the Medici coat-of-arms) were on display at the BMA and also at the Walters Art Gallery and the Welch Medical Library at Johns Hopkins University. It marked the 25th anniversary of the BMA and the 550th birthday of Cosimo de Medici and was the first under the BMA's new director, Leslie Cheek. Cheek served as Director of the BMA from 1939 to 1942.
