نبذة مختصرة : The paper deals with the diagnosis of extra-esophageal manifestations of the gastroesophageal disease, including respiratory, oropharyngeal, pseudocardial and cardiac symptoms and syndromes. The paper singles out an epidemiological study of a combination of prevalent gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). All this is confirmed by the diagnosis and differences between GER and GERD associated with bronchopulmonary diseases, most widely studied and most often recur in medical practice. A correlation between GERD and bronchopulmonary syndromes and symptoms is corroborated in the studies carried out. The authors have presented the mechanisms of the development of bronchial asthma that arises against a background of GERD. A correlation is shown between the index of reflux and respiratory symptoms and separate symptoms of GER that are connected with asthma attacks as far as time is concerned. The consequences of GER may be the manifestations of bronchial asthma on the cause of this disease. The most characteristic clinical symptom of GERD – associated bronchial obstruction is nocturnal coughing due to a prolonged horizontal position of the esophagus. As an example, a side effect of the basic therapy of bronchial asthma (corticosteroids, theophyllines), that are widely used, in the treatment negatively influences on the antireflux barrier. The most wide spread clinical symptoms in this research is GER-associated bronchospasm. The gold standard of GER diagnostics is round-the-clock monitoring of gastric pH. In order to make a diagnosis of GERD with respiratory manifestations a specific algorithm of examinations is necessary. Proceeding from this a performance of experimental treatment with antisecretory preparations of the group of inhibitors of the proton pump is needed. In case of obtaining a positive result (an abatement or disappearance of the symptoms) a respiratory disorder may be detected to which attention should be paid, stipulating a need of differential diagnostics and a complex assessment of the ...
