      This research aims to analyze the textbooks of elementary school mathematics, the number of 9th grade of elementary school adopted by public schools and state Mamanguape. We will analyze the two collections approved by the majority of teachers in the municipality of Mamanguape for the number of 9th grade. With regard to content, polynomial function of 2nd degree or quadratic, we analyze the approach of content. The focus of this analysis was to determine if the organization and teaching mathematics relative to these contents in these collections encourage the development of student learning according to Official Documents for Secondary Education (PCNEM, OCEM), the Guide Textbook Program National Textbook approaches and also meets the guidelines proposed by the National Curriculum for Primary Schools (PCN.). The books that are part of collections: "The Conquest of Mathematics" author Ruy Jose Benedicto Jr. and Giovanni Castrucci, and "Mathematics" the author Edwaldo Bianchini, are the tools of qualitative research literature. The theoretical basis was proposed by the National Curriculum for Elementary Education, as well as the Official Documents for high school, looking for the mathematical knowledge of students in the process of teaching and learning, the problem situation and reinforce the importance of working mathematics and contextualized. We concluded that the quadratic function in both collections analyzed in relation to the methodology of approach is not well defined in the guidelines proposed by the official documents of the Ministry of Education and Culture. ; Essa pesquisa objetiva analisar os livros didáticos de ensino fundamental de Matemática, na série de 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental adotados pelas escolas municipais e estaduais de Mamanguape.
