Development of Preschool Teachers’ Professional Self-Efficacy Scale: Validity and Reliability Study ; Okul Öncesi Öğretmeni Mesleki Öz-Yeterlik Ölçeği Geliştirilmesi: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

      Teacher competencies are a field that started with the existence of teaching and various research has focused on it due to its importance in education, and research has been conducted to ensure its advancement. The foundation of professional self-efficacy areas has been identified, and particular areas have been determined for each teaching area. This research aimed to develop a valid and reliable assessment tool to determine the preschool teachers’ professional self-efficacy. In the developing process of the scale, firstly, a 55-item question pool was created, and then one item was removed due to incomprehensibility. The remaining 54 items were sent to the expert opinion, and the content validity was determined. Using the Lawshe method, the content validity index of the scale was determined as 0.76. Then, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and test-retest methods were applied, respectively. Data for these three analyses were collected from three different research groups that were formed separately, consisting of preschool teachers. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, a structure consisting of 29 items and 4 dimensions was determined. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, 5 items were removed from the scale, and it was determined that the 24-item and 4-dimensional scale had an "acceptable" level model. It was determined that the scale had a reliability feature with a significant correlation coefficient of 0.777 by the test-retest method.
