Nursing Care in Urostomized Patient. ; Cuidados de Enfermería en Paciente Urostomizado.

This article is based on explaining nursing care in a patient with a urostomy. A urostomy is defined as the outward diversion of urine through a hole or stoma created artificially, through surgery, in the abdominal wall; The urine will pass through the stoma into a urostomy bag. Nursing care is essential for the correct maintenance of the stoma and to avoid possible complications such as: edema, hemorrhage, dehiscence, necrosis, stenosis, granulomas, retraction, dermatitis, hernia, fistulas and abscesses; Therefore, nursing has a key role in the health education required by the patient to improve the quality of life and adaptation to society with their new condition. The objective of this article is to provide guidelines on nursing care in this type of patient. A bibliographic review of scientific articles from the last five years was carried out, which were analyzed and synthesized qualitatively in order to learn about nursing interventions in a urostomized patient. It was concluded that the care given by the nursing staff plays an important role in the patient's recovery. ; El presente artículo se basa en explicar acerca de los cuidados de enfermería en un paciente con urostomía. Se define como urostomía la desviación hacia el exterior de la orina a través de un orificio o un estoma creado artificialmente, por medio de una cirugía, en la pared abdominal; la orina pasará a través del estoma hasta una bolsa de urostomía. Los cuidados de enfermería son esenciales para el correcto mantenimiento del estoma y evitar posibles complicaciones como: edema, hemorragia, dehiscencia, necrosis, estenosis, granulomas, retracción, dermatitis, hernia, fístulas y abscesos; por lo que enfermería tiene un papel clave en la educación sanitaria requerida por el paciente para mejorar la calidad de vida y la adaptación a la sociedad con su nueva condición.
