      This writing is based on the interest of a research that is advancing with the purpose of contextualizing an initial training program for science teachers with the diversity of students and their multiple ways of building knowledge, which future teachers will surely find in their pedagogical exercise. For this, the following text describes the documentary analysis that begins with the search for different documents that show proposals for initial training of science teachers; some based on inclusive education, disability, special educational needs and others are based on functional diversity. This mixture of terms promoted the construction of an analysis matrix, in which a parallel was evidenced that allowed to identify the characteristics of some trends of the selected articles through four moments in which the articles are searched, selected and analyzed; then a matrix is built where the characteristics of the documents converge and with the help of the atlas ti software, some analysis networks are built that allow the process to be concluded and determine that the path of functional diversity would be the path through which the research would be oriented. It will contribute to the initial training of science teachers. ; En la actualidad, los docentes se encuentran con una realidad en el aula: la presencia de estudiantes que poseen diversas habilidades. Por tanto, este escrito hace parte de una investigación que busca aportar a la formación inicial de docentes, particularmente de ciencias, en contextos de aula con estudiantes que poseen diversas habilidades. Durante la búsqueda de antecedentes se encontraron artículos que describen propuestas fundamentadas en la discapacidad, las necesidades educativas especiales y la diversidad funcional. Esta mezcla de términos promueve una revisión documental que permite identificar algunas tendencias investigativas sobre la formación inicial del docente de ciencias para la diversidad funcional.
