نبذة مختصرة : The article is the result of a research that had as its object of study the initial formation of teachers. Moreover, it was searching for an answer to the following problem: What is the perception of graduating students about the process of initial training in the Pedagogy course at IEAA/UFAM? It follows the general objective of analyzing the perception of the initial training process of students as graduates. The research adopted a qualitative approach and used narrative interviews to collect data. The results showed the importance of initial training aligned with the needs of future teachers; the need for graduates to acquire real experiences as a possibility to face the demands of contemporary education; more targeted attention to those who come from basic education with a learning delay; the good relationship between professors and students is an aspect to be taken into account; the challenges intertwine with the difficulties that permeate the personal, academic, financial and even bureaucratic aspects of the institution. The overload of content and reading was evidenced as a challenge that lasted almost the entire training process. Therefore, the educational institution must also direct efforts to avoid dropout and non-continuation of studies by academics who face adverse situations during initial training. ; El artículo es el resultado de una investigación, que tuvo como objeto de estudio la formación inicial de los docentes. Y fue en la búsqueda de una respuesta al siguiente problema: ¿Cuál es la percepción de los estudiantes por egresar sobre el proceso de formación inicial en la carrera de Pedagogía en el IEAA/UFAM?
