نبذة مختصرة : This TFM explores the semiotic complexity of 'politeness' in the medieval romance The Wedding of Gawain and Dame Ragnell. This discussion relates to the idea of the grotesque woman as a disrupter of the normative, civilised order. I have chosen to examine how Ragnelle pushes the boundaries of feminine politeness in three channels: firstly, that of her physical appearance; secondly, the way in which she 'outmanoeuvres' men for her fiscal security; and thirdly, her negotiation of the strict temporality of Arthurian order. Politeness is here defined as behaviour that conforms to any dominant discourse of conduct, respectability, and complicity. ; Aquest TFM explora la complexitat semiòtica del concepte de 'correcció' en el poema cavalleresc The Wedding of Gawain and Dame Ragnell. L'argument principal gira en torn al concepte de "dona grotesca" com a element disruptiu de l'ordre normatiu i civilitzat. Examino com Ragnelle empeny els límits de la correcció femenina en tres àmbits: pel que fa el seu aspecte físic; per la manera en què influeix en els homes per procurar-se un avantatge; i per la seva negociació de la temporalitat estricta de l'ordre arturià. Defineixo correcció com a conducta que s'ajusta a un discurs dominant de respectabilitat i complicitat.
