      This research set out to discuss an aspect of the educational area: Rural Education, which is presented as an educational modality according to official documents that govern rural education in Brazil. This is a research carried out in a school in the municipality of Pedra Lavrada, located in Seridó Paraibano, with the purpose of understanding how the school's guiding documents (Pedagogical Project and Internal Regulation) turn to the principles of rural education , whose objectives were to analyze whether the school's guiding documents are in accordance with what official documents for rural education prescribe and how they contribute to democratic school management, analyzing the way in which these guiding documents were elaborated. at Escola do campo. The study was also developed through analysis of the content present in the speech of students, teachers and school manager, through the application of questionnaires with open and closed questions, in addition to an informal interview with the school principal, via WhatsApp. Based on the results of the research and the analysis of the guiding documentation, it is possible to observe a fragility about what Education in and in the Countryside is, and its educational principles. In turn, the school's guiding documents present pedagogical proposals that contribute to the process of denying the peasant identity of the school subjects, which does not contribute to the construction of democratic management. ; Esta pesquisa se propôs a discutir uma vertente da área educacional: a Educação do Campo, que se apresenta como uma modalidade educacional segundo os documentos oficiais que regem a educação do campo, no Brasil.
