Gender-Based Violence in the University Context from the Perspective of Students ; Violencia basada en género en el contexto universitario desde la perspectiva de los estudiantes

The results of a qualitative research with the student population are presented, with a critical social focus and action research design, aimed at strengthening attitudes to prevent manifestations of gender-based violence (gbv) in a public university in south-western Colombia, whose specific objectives were: a) characterization of these manifestations, b) recognition of attitudes towards them and c) formulation of a strategy to prevent them. Situations of physical, psychological and sexual violence were identified, involving the partner, classmates, teachers and other members of the university community. It is recognized that gbv is present in the university daily life. The main reactions are the naturalization and institutional tolerance, which generate discomfort and fear of reporting, promoting impunity, re-victimization and the maintenance of gbv.In situations of sexual harassment in which teachers are involved, the reactions identified are direct confrontation, evasion-avoidanceand acceptance. ; Se presentan los resultados de una investigación cualitativa con población estudiantil, estudio con enfoque crítico social y diseño de investigación acción, orientado al fortalecimiento de las actitudes tendientes a prevenir manifestaciones de Violencia Basada en Género (vbg) en una universidad pública del suroccidente colombiano. Los objetivos específicos fueron: a) caracterización de estas manifestaciones, b) reconocimiento de las actitudes frente a las mismas y c) formulación de una estrategia orientada a su prevención.Se identificaron situaciones de violencia física, psicológica y sexual que involucran a la pareja, compañeros, docentes y otros integrantes de la comunidad universitaria.
