نبذة مختصرة : The article focuses on the description of trends in the formation of forms of the comparative and superlative forms in modern Ukrainian based on the dictionary compiled by A.Neliuba, Ye.Redko «Lexical and word-forming innovations. 2017–2021» (2022). The formation of the comparative and superlative forms of relative adjectives, participles and numerals leads to the expansion of word meanings, the layering of figurative meanings to achieve a certain stylistic effect. In the process of analysis, we observe both the stereotypical perception of new meanings by communicators, as well as different interpretations that demonstrate individual linguistic creativity. The use of the elements of corpus analysis made it possible to trace the chronological boundaries of the use of the investigated forms in the modern Ukrainian language. The need to codify the correspondent tendencies, taking into account the regularity of reproduction in the Ukrainian language grammar books sources, has been argumented, as well as the need to fix and interpret new semantic nuances in lexicographical sources.
