La adolescencia es un periodo en el que chicos y chicas se enfrentan a cambios biológicos, sociales y psicológicos. Puesto que es un periodo de modificaciones y alteraciones, en esta etapa del ciclo vital, suelen incrementar los comportamientos impulsivos y agresivos, y con ello las conductas antisociales y delictivas. Además, en esta etapa se desarrollan ciertos trastornos psicopatológicos propios de la adolescencia, que tienen características diferentes según el sexo. Cabe subrayar, que a lo largo de los años se han llevado a cabo numerosas investigaciones para conocer el origen de la conducta delictiva, y es interesante ver como el sexo del individuo influye en dichas conductas.
